I am looking on Autoscout for a T4 , I have seen one with the title VW Transporter Bestel 1.9 DSL KAT

Does anyone know what the DSL KAT stand for ?

On a recent long journey I noticed on several occasions whilst moving along at 100kmph that my 5th gear jumped free. I quickly put the Van into 4th and then back up into 5th. Over a journey of about 400km it jumped at least 4 times.

Anyone know what may be the problem ?

I managed to access the door from the inside and pulled the cable that releases the catch.
However the catch would not release.

The back door cannot open. It is a hatch door that opens upwards. The key turns but when I press the clip to open and lift, it does not open. It feels that it is not catching when I press,as if something is slipping ?

As I stated the Van is running very well on the Motorway and through 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th gears.

There is no slipping of gears and no heavy metal ...

I have a T4 1.9d from 1995
It is running well at this moment,smooth. It has had the engine rebuilt and new starter motor and Dynamo from Bosch.

My question is ? when I clutch to go into 1st there is a ticking noise, tic tic tic tic tic tic tic very fast and also light. So not a heavy metal noise ...

Hi there, I have a 1.9d T4 from 1995. My accu light came on so I thought my dynamo was stuk so I replaced it with a new dynamo. However the accu light is still ON ? all my electrics work and the Van starts fine.
Does anyone know what the problem could be ?

I have a T4 1.9d from 1995.

I have a slight problem with my heating ? when I put it on full it is at best warm not hot.

On a scale of 1 - 10 I would say it is at 6 ....is there anything I can do to get more heat coming out ?

There is no sound at all when I turn on the heater/kachel.

I have replaced the weerstand and also the control schakelaar/switch,VW garage recommended this.

Thanks for the information Gert G, much appreciated...and yes I did have a new Bosch Start Motor replaced by VW in Breda a couple of months back,good memory !! :-)
